Mario Barrafato is a Corporate Director and seasoned finance executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across Canada’s public REIT sector. Mr. Barrafato most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Choice Properties REIT, appointed at the time of its 2018 acquisition of Canadian Real Estate Investment Trust (“CREIT”).

Prior to Choice Properties REIT, Mr. Barrafato served as CFO of CREIT from 2015 to 2018. From 2001 to 2015, he held senior finance leadership roles for entities managed by DREAM, including CFO of DREAM Office REIT, DREAM Industrial REIT, and DREAM Unlimited. He currently serves on the board of Allied Properties REIT.  Mr. Barrafato began his career in finance with KPMG LLP., RJR MacDonald Inc., and Molson Inc.

Mr. Barrafato holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from McMaster University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).
